OUR STORY
There is a saying, “do is greater than talk”…
The Bakers' kitchen table is a reminder of the simple foundation our studio began with in August 2011, when our founding principals did more than talk and launched our firm at a simple wood table in their family kitchen. With a leap of faith, a vision to create great people spaces, and a desire to utilize our God given talents to create impact in the communities where we work and live… studio 16:19 was born.
That table also reminds us to celebrate the clients that have trusted us with their projects, the City of Round Rock where our firm calls home, the numerous collaborative consultant partners that have supported our project teams, and our truly talented staff that makes this collaborative studio a family. As we continue in our second decade, we are no longer just one staff and one table; our collective staff of talented individuals and many studio tables have expanded, yet our purpose remains the same. From Concept to Community, designing outdoor people spaces where LIFE takes place is what drives the team to live out our mission of Design, Collaborate, and Solve for Impact.
We are asked occasionally – where does the 16:19 come from?
To find that answer, one need not look further than scripture. In Matthew 16:19 the disciples were instructed in a lesson on authority. They understood the principle that a person entrusted with keys provided them the authority to act on behalf of the one that had entrusted them with those keys.
We at studio 16:19 live out this principle today as we understand that clients trust us to act on their behalf in the project development process to “unlock” design solutions in various project opportunities.
We also understand the principle of being good stewards of the authority afforded to us from the way the studio is guided, the way we foster relationships, how projects are managed, the thoughtfulness of the designs we create, and the lasting impact we seek to leave in every community we encounter.
