With the recent creation of the MU-2 Develop Zoning District in Downtown Round Rock, it has provided many opportunities for redevelopment of a once former solely residential area to a thriving mixed-use community that is bolstering the local economy. The Grove is one of the newest event venues to capitalize on a former site that was tragically destroyed by fire and remained vacant and utilized for years. The new 4000 SF event venue with its mid-century modern flair is positioned within beautiful grand oak trees and overlooks the clear waters of the Brushy Creek that fronts the entire property. Studio 16:19 was commissioned to masterplan the entire site which included the creation of multiple event spaces that connect seamlessly with the architecture to allow users to gather, connect and engage with a variety if events and uses. The “outdoor rooms” include a 3000 SF lawn terrace at the water’s edge with a grand stair case for access, a 2500 SF cantilever deck, and a 2000 SF event lawn. All areas are connected and area enhanced with a native and adaptive Central Texas plant pallet to complete the ambiance and user experience.
